If a company has a collections department, call them first because they are all about getting a live person immediately. The retentions department is another safe bet.

You’ve probably tried the zero, pound and star key. However, if that doesn’t work and you simply press everything, it might be enough to get you a live operator. You can also try voice commands, even if the message doesn’t advertise that option. Possibilities include representative, operator, customer service, human, help and agent.
