Protect your gadgets from internet hackers

Guest Post By Ann Nguyen

As we all know, our gadgets have become like an extra limb to our daily lives today. How would we survive the day without our Blackberry, tablet, android, laptop? Whatever gadget you have, you couldn’t be without it.  Sound familiar? Why is it then, that so many of us don’t bother putting internet security software on all our internet devices?

It doesn’t cost much – Kaspersky anti-virus software comes as a free 30 day trial, during which you can test it out and see if it suits you. Pretty much all the main antivirus software companies offer free versions or 30-90 day trials of their paid-for products. Even just switching between freebies will offer your devices some level of protection. Be aware though, that you should uninstall any existing antivirus software from a device before installing another one.

Mobile phones are particularly vulnerable and open to attack from viruses and Trojans. Somehow, even though they can get their emails and surf the web via their phone, some people don’t seem to have made that logical connection yet; that a mobile is equally vulnerable to being hacked.

And if your phone gets taken over by a hacker, you could end up with a bill for hundreds of pounds at the end of the month. Some viruses will program your phone to send repeated continuous texts to a premium rate phone number that belongs to the virus’ creator. The worst thing is that you may not know that your phone’s been hacked until you get the shocking phone bill!

Kaspersky antivirus has a specific program for mobile antivirus protection. When deciding which mobile antivirus is the best for your phone, check with your mobile provider if it’s compatible and find out how much of the phone’s battery power and memory the software will require to run.
